If your dog is drinking more water than usual, this can be the first sign of kidney or bladder problems, and a visit to your veterinarian is in order.
Your dog uses water for absorption of nutrients, as well as maintenance of body temperature. It helps to detoxify the body and transport toxic substances out of the body through the eliminative organs. Water is also used to keep the acid levels of the blood constant.
