BONE MEAL
Bone meal balances the mineral levels of meat, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium levels in your dog’s body and it is one of the primary sources of calcium in the diet.
Calcium metabolism is a complex affair involving many systems in the body. For example, calcium competes in the kidneys for storage with sodium. Too much sodium in a diet causes calcium loss and low readings in the blood work.
Bone meal comes from range cattle not exposed to the pollutants so commonly found in cattle grazing by roadsides in the United States which show a high level of lead in their bones. Used because of the perfect balance of these minerals, bone meal is important to the proper formation of bones and teeth, and to prevent skeletal and joint diseases.
