Spontaneous hemorrhage indicate s deficiency in clotting ability; this may occur for several reasons, including poisoning (rodenticides), autoimmune platelet diseases, and deficiency in clotting factors. The last category encompasses such syndromes as hemophilia and Von Willerbrand’s disease which we generally consider to be genetic deficiencies. Bleeding disorders like these may also be connected to thyroid deficiency, which is mostly an autoimmune disease (the body’s immune system attacks itself).See the section on thyroid disease, below. Hemorrhage may occur for many reasons, and most of them indicate a need to investigate the cause
The bleeding susceptibility may continue for up to two weeks, so surgery and dental cleaning should not be scheduled during this period, should you choose to vaccinate(see Chapter Sixteen, (Vaccination,” before you decide to vaccinate). Bleeding may also occur after injuries, during infections and abscesses, and after some drugs and vaccinations. In most of these situation, the cause is apparent and thus treatment is generally simplrer. Vaccinations often increase the bleeding tendency by impending clotting function, though this is not a problem in most animals unless there is a concurrent injury. The following treatment suggestions are intended as a supplement to veterinary care. Additionally, unless the condition is simple, you should work with an experienced homeopathic practitioner. If your companion begins to blend from a body orifice or under the skin, take her in to your veterinarian right away to determine, but it is essential that you ascertain the cause of the hemorrhage..
Vitamin K and calcium are essential for proper clotting, and these may be obtained from green leafy vegetables; alfalfa is also a good source. Liver contains many ingredients that are helpful as well, since clotting factors are normally produced in the liver. If your companion has bleeding tendencies, be sure she receives adequate amounts of these foods and vitamins.
Yunnan paiyao is a a Chinese herbal preparation, and very effective at stopping acute hemorrhage, whether from trauma or other causes. This is available through Chinese herbalist and in many stores that specialize in Chinese and Asian foods.
The products cab be given orally as well as topically. Give one or two capsules (depending upon the severity) for dogs over twenty-five pounds. This may be repeated two to four times a day if needed. Give cats and small dogs one-fourth to one-half capsule. There is also small red “safety pill” with each sheet of capsules that is for severe bleeding. Use this product short term only. It is generally not for prolonged administration unless directed by an herbalist
The following homeopathic remedies may be helpful as well;

Crotalus borridus
- The remedy has an affinity to the right side of the body.

Hamamelis is very similar to Arnica and should be used for bleeding after an injury if Arnica is ineffective.

The fascination with supposedly harmless X rays in the early years of this century caused great pain and suffering as its delayed effects emerged..Many people now scoff at the proposed dangers of common pollutants today. Will we look back with a similar horror in the next century? There is need for caution with each one. We need to carefully examine our usage of chemicals and pollutants of all sorts, as the effect is usually much worse than we first believe.
I recommend stopping vaccination and providing a clean diet and environment for these animals. Whatever the cause, hyperactivity is real. It is often treatable with homeopathy and other holistic methods, thought it are too complex to offer suggestions for home treatment. Eliminate all chemical preservatives and pollutants to the greatest extent you can.
